I am not a fan of stifling discussion among FRenz while the “iron is cold”. That makes for a dull thread. I’d rather we use the opportunity to turn the discussion in more positive directions, ultimately returning to research and Q.
Even the discussions of the [flatly NOT Q] fire in Paris is on-going and worthwhile given the info we are getting about the cathedral, the fire, the French government and the yellow vests. Speaking of which, they (GJ) have necessarily been more widely revealed in the US by this fire...A GOOD thing!

LJ, no one objects when someone here says a prayer. No one objects when someone calls upon the Lord for some help. This religious discussion is not a fight, although I admit, it’s getting a mite testy. See my previous post.
Don’t like it when just a few posts incur the “don’t talk about it!” stuff.
Yesterday a big part of our Church’s artifacts and building got toasted. We’re verklempt. We’re not calling for an investigation or casting blame. Like I said, we’re verklempt.
Well, not exactly.
We can trash talk all the other religions ^outside^ of Christianity (including Judeaism and Mormons).
We are left to respectfully struggle with the differences among traditions (denominations) in the Christian church. Giving honor and due respect to the faithful confession of one baptism, one Faith, one Lord.

Well, some might, but I don't. I figure each true religion (violent Muslims are a political group...) deserves respect from all non-believers-in-that-religion.
I just tell folks when we're talking religion "Boy, we are sure gonna be surprised when we get to Heaven and realize that God doesn't favor any one religion...all he requires is a belief in him!"

Why would they perceive they need a savior from their sins if they don’t know they have sinned? What shows a person their sin? The Law withheld needs no Gospel.

They responded to two alarms. The first time nothing was found. The second time it was already too late to save the cathedral.
From what I have seen and heard I am leaning toward this being an accidental fire and not arson. It looks like the fire was largely contained to the roof area. The other damage was collateral damage from the roof falling in.

I’ll stay away from anything conclusive on my part while continuing to note the oddities surrounding the incident...including the almost 7B-euro involved.
Those funds, from digging around elsewhere appear to have been raised before construction and held in trust to be used as each project within the whole was finished.
That’s Clinton Foundation level money, right there.
