Class act, great player from what few “episodes” I have seen of him. Cannot watch a “thug” league game, too many tattoos, not enough “diversity,” AKA, an “an equal opportunity employer.” HaHaHaHaHa.....

7 feet tall, size 15 shoes. He felt like a freak growing up.

He thought basketball was a woman's game because that is what his mother played.

Great guy. We were fortunate to have him play in Dallas.

The torch has been passed to Luka Doncic.

Its not really a thug league like it was in the early 2000s and the ‘Malice in the Palace’ days. The NBA really cleaned up a lot of that. Things like pointing out tattoos is nonsense. Everybody, especially among the current generation saved for a few have multiple tats including white guys...example is ‘Birdman’ Chris Anderson. I don’t have them and don’t care to have them but many do nowadays

Great player and always a class act. He probably hung on a year or two too long, but he’d done enough to go out on his own terms and I’m glad the Mavs let him do it. Good to see him and his old rival Dwayne Wade reconcile this year and retire together.

I thought they remade the old Maverick tv show and wondered why I never heard of it.

“Things like pointing out tattoos is nonsense” Ah...no. Look into it. Hepatitis, eventual cancer in lymph nodes, societal taboos, and Biblical proscription, are just a few points. It’s just a current fad, one every person who has one will rue the day they got it, but it is not “nonsense.”

In and of itself I agree that tattoos is foolishness but this ‘fad’ is very widespread even among young believers and nonbelievers. The term ‘sleeve’ where a man or woman gets them all over their arm is growing every day even among some models. I’m just saying that pointing that out as something to do with the thug league is nonsense...it’s common everywhere for the most part

No again. Show me another league that has as many tattoos per individual. Hockey, or any other, show me. It is repulsive to see these tattoos on athletes while watching them perform. Why? What is the point, the purpose of all those tattoos? No one knows as they won’t tell, or cannot explain. Who the hell cares? Leave it at home—but they bring it to the court. Show me a gang member without a tattoo, their initiation into the fraternity.

“He probably hung on a year or two too long.”

Maybe. But he did score 30 points in his last game. That is not exactly an “over the hill” stat.

It was cool watching Dirk sing ‘We are the champions’ with his German accent when the Mavs won the NBA championship in 2011.
