Because this is California, he will only get Probation at the worst.
I started realizing the same risk about a year ago. At this point, I walk a block away from my house, luggage in hand, before calling Uber, as Uber drivers only get your first name, so it would take some work by them to figure out where I came from.
Same for being dropped off. The less strangers who know where you live or what your plans are, the better!
And by the way, we’re only reading about this because THE DRIVER came back and was likely tracked back by Uber - if he had half a brain, he would have simply given the address to a ‘friend’ and have him do the burglary...and I’m sure that happens, many, many times.
Another tactic is to smash and grab garage door openers from parked cars on streets around stadiums. Home address is usually on papers in the glove compartment. Thieves go to home and use garage door to enter.
Just have a conversation in the car:
“Did we remember to feed ‘Killer’?”
“Did you remember to take the shotgun away from grandpa. You know how he gets when we’re not around.”
San Mateo, my sister in law lives there.
2 bedroom house on a postage stamp lot. 1,000 square feet. Appraised value of roughly $1,000,000. Insane.

Criminals exploiting an anonymous online privateer taxi service, whoda thunk it.
They just need to steal the car and hit HOME on the navigation system. They are then taken directly to the home of the car's owner. Most cars will even conveniently have the garage door opener on their visor, so the thief can just pull into the garage like he owns the place. If the house is empty, the burglar will have the leisure of ransacking the place without the need for forced entry and the neighbors wouldn't even have a clue.
When we moved we had cable installed and I mentioned to my wife that they look like they are casing the place ..they new are schedule...sure enough 2 days later we get home with the back door knocked off its hinges
...Milwaukee cops could of gave a shit
the DA in MA, in suffolk county deemed that

“and is out on $50,000 bail.”
