I started realizing the same risk about a year ago. At this point, I walk a block away from my house, luggage in hand, before calling Uber, as Uber drivers only get your first name, so it would take some work by them to figure out where I came from.
Same for being dropped off. The less strangers who know where you live or what your plans are, the better!
And by the way, we’re only reading about this because THE DRIVER came back and was likely tracked back by Uber - if he had half a brain, he would have simply given the address to a ‘friend’ and have him do the burglary...and I’m sure that happens, many, many times.
I let everyone know when I’m gone. Post it on Facebook, etc. Hubby requests it. He’s waiting for them. lol
