Unfortunately this fluke incident, as pleasing as it is to read, won’t do anything to stop poaching. There are organized efforts to prevent poaching, but they involve spending lots of money, money a lot of these countries don’t have.

IMO, the legal sale of ivory would be a vast improvement for the elephants.
The photos of the ivory being burned, inflame the price and bring in more poachers.
Yes, there are some areas where they shoot the SOB’s on sight.
But that is slower than the replacement poacher rate.
Id be agreeable for our military to go to these countries to practice on the poachers. Accomplish more than half the places they are at now.
Would it be cheaper to post a $5000 reward for information leading to the capture of poachers and then send the mobile firing squad to take care of the problem?
Poachers should face the death penalty.
How about issuing permits to hunt poachers?
