Rumor has it Disney spent 10s of millions to buy tickets through Fandango to prop up the sales for Captain SJW (nee Marvel).
$5K to generate fake buzz is no big deal.
I could see the studio PR Sept putting tickets on sale for $5k, then buying them themselves.
