WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Democratic-led U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee voted on Wednesday to authorize subpoenas for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s full, unredacted report and underlying evidence from his investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election. The 24-17 vote along party lines - with Democrats in favor and President Donald Trump’s fellow Republicans opposed - authorized the panel’s chairman, Jerrold Nadler, to subpoena Mueller’s material. The measure also authorized Nadler, a Democrat, to subpoena documents and testimony from five former Trump aides, including former political adviser Steve Bannon and former White House Counsel Donald McGahn. The committee vote escalated congressional pressure on Attorney General William Barr to hand over all that Mueller documented during his 22-month probe, including grand jury evidence.

So?
And?
Does another branch of government have to respond?

“The Democratic-led U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee voted on Wednesday to authorize subpoenas for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s full, unredacted report and underlying evidence from his investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election.”

So now in addition to a bunch of liberal judges who think they can rewrite laws now the dumba$$ Democrats in congress think they can too. Obamwankanobi has taught them well.

Ask Eric Holder. Fast and Furious, it was ignored.

It’s only a house subpoena, ignore it. Say you’ll go through it and pass them anything you think they need. Use bleachbit. Smash the only copy with a hammer.

Hillary, Holder and Lerner, Rosenstein and Blasey-Ford set rock solid precedent that you can ignore congressional subpoenas anytime you please.

They do not expect to get a copy of the full report.

This is just so they can keep saying it is a coverup.

Typical left tactic. It would not work without their friends in the media.

Of course, President Trump could surprise them and give them a copy as well as post it on the internet.

That would really freak them out.

There is NOTHING Democratic about the current leaders of the House. In fact, there is no House....only a sugar shack, Jack.

Didn’t the Dems pass a Law in 1995 to prevent the release of the Starr Report and does that Law cover this ?

Lawsuit? There is no way that the Supreme Court will weigh in on a lawsuit between the two other branches of Government.

It is my understanding that technically if someone declines to appear before Congress they can only be held in contempt. If Congress chooses they can then file a motion to compel with the Judiciary but it seldom happens since the subpoenaed individual will just plead the Fifth. The subpoena is just a political tool. The Donks are playing forvtimexand trying to keep up enthusiasm among their base going into the 2020 elections.

Lincoln ignored Chief Justice Roger Taney during the Civil War when Taney lifted the Lincoln Suspension of Habeas Corpus. That’s what the Supreme Court risks if they were to weigh in on a dispute between Congress and the Executive Branch. It would be devastating to the power of the Supreme Court — which is why they would not take the case.
