One that’s always worked for me is to say that “Coffee’s ready!...However, we only have decaf!...(dramatic pause)...April Fool!”.
I heard about that one for the first time last year. What an awesome gag.
I once staged a murder scene at my mom’s house when she was gone for the weekend.
The crime scene tape and body outline on the living room carpet gave her quite the shock.

Red box got me last year they sent out an email saying they were going to start a “free movie night” where you could bring a date and watch a free movie on the kisok screen.
Took about an hour till I realized it was April first.
