Ha! Good story. By the way, I wonder if the La Marseillaise scene would even be in ‘Casablanca’ if that movie were being made today. After all, the song is very nationalistic. And that sort of thing is frowned upon these days.
Maybe they’d replace it with some sort of EU inclusiveness poem.

Another in the sports department is the movie “Face Off”, made in 1971 about a young Toronto Maple Leafs player and his experiences (John Vernon plays the coach). Best moments in this one are the shows of footage from Maple Leaf Gardens and other great NHL venues of the past (Detroit Olympia, Philadelphia Spectrum, Los Angeles Forum, Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, and others) along with the teams and players at that time.

As for me, I would've put in the scene where the bar patrons in 'Casablanca' sing La Marseillaise. But I guess that movie - like me - is too old.
I knew a very learned man who lived in that part of the world and learned French and Arabic, and he found the scene silly. The folks who actually populated Morocco had no use for Nazis, but they also wouldn't identify in any way with France or the French Revolution.

The last scene of BATTLEGROUND
This platoon just survived the Battle of the Bulge. They are being relieved. At the beginning they don’t know that, but soon the sgt has them do an about face and they begin walking away from the battle as new troops are marching towards it.

Sols euthanasia backdropped by Beethovens 5th. "Soylent green".
And the piece you are thinking of was a cut from Symphony No. 6 ("Pastoral") by Beethoven. The whole scene was a mix of classical pieces...
The main theme from Symphony No. 6 ("Pathétique") by Tchaikovsky, the Peer Gynt Suite ("Morning Mood" and "Åse's Death") by Edvard Grieg...and of course, Symphony No. 6 by Beethoven.

They always mention the game of catch between the father and son at the end of “Field of Dreams”, but my favourite is young Archie Graham playing ball with the older pros.
