RICHMOND, Va. Two Habitat for Humanity workers were stabbed Saturday afternoon near Forest Hill Avenue in Richmond.
The stabbing occurred when the workers were working on a home in the 200 block of W 34th Street.
While working, they were approached by a man asking for directions. But within minutes- the suspect was grabbing the neck of his 18-year-old victim- demanding money.
"Ron the supervisor threw a hammer at him and he ran out but Ron couldn't get to the door fast enough to close it," said Jane Helfrich, CEO Richmond Region Habitat for Humanity. "The apprentice ran next door to the neighbor, but Ron couldn't close the door fast enough to keep him out- that's when he came back in and stabbed him."
The supervisor was stabbed four times- twice in the chest and twice in the back, while the 18-year-old apprentice was stabbed in the back of the leg.
In both cases, no vital organs were hit.
The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot toward Forest Hill Avenue.

No description of the perp. Of course.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Just looked at a number of different articles on this. Not one of the stories provides a description of the perp.
Yeah. Be on the look out for a guy.
All of the stories ended with a request for help from local cops.
Be on the lookout for whom, I wonder? The Invisible Man?!
Of course, if the cops managed to get any of the perp’s DNA off either vic, and the perp in is the system, LE may know pretty quick who they’re looking for. And may not want the perp to know they’re on to him.
Sigh. One can hope.
Stupid is supposed to hurt.

True. I do a lot of charitable work with the homeless and while many need and truly appreciate the help, quite frankly, some of them are real scum. Criminals who view someone’s kindness and charity as an opportunity to take advantage of them. Some in this community probably saw the Habitat for Humanity volunteers as easy marks.
“Why we can’t have nice things”.

I have a close friend whose husband was stabbed to death in Kansas City’ east side while working to rehab a home. This is not such an uncommon occurence. The perp was thought to be a former employee. The perp stole the husband’s van which was found a few days later in Kansas City, Kansas. The case remains cold.
