And I’m not a fan of that genre. Used to get it free in my cable package. Never watched it after the Sopranos other than the John Adams series.

4K content is still limited. 8K content for now remains only a pipe dream.

A 4K TV delivers a more life like experience but has a long way to go to attain its true potential.

I did. Got tired of IPod batteries dying after a couple of years

That shouldn't happen, but they're easy to replace and cheap off eBay. I still use a 2005 iPod and have only replaced the battery twice. I have it hooked up to an Ion Pathfinder 2 boombox and they make a good pairing. Batteries are a commonplace item and not much different between hundreds of brands; just search eBay for the batteries that give the most mAh per battery.

I may have to.
My DSL speed is barely adequate for streaming.
I hate Spectrum with a passion but may have to re-up

“I don’t mind paying more for internet. Not about saving money.”

You’re not entirely wrong - it is also about sticking it to CNN, MSNBC, etc., and also having the ability to tailor your own package of channels.

Frankly, if Apple is smart, they’ll have subscriptions available to allow people to pick and choose EXACTLY what they want, with none of the fluff of the big packages. I doubt that they’ll do that, but they’d win over a lot of customers from cable and other streaming services if they did. I suppose that we’ll find out in a couple of months when they officially come out with Apple TV.

Ma Bell is rolling out fiber to the home. Indianapolis is one of their roll out markets, although not available for my part of it, yet. Also, 5G will be a thing. And while I’m dubious about it on a mobile platform, I could see it used as a net provider to the home.

So more competition for Comcast - Yay!

Really? Thanks. I have always been under the assumption they couldn’t be replaced. My first got smashed. My second one died in the hot tub. Fell in when not using it and was under for over an hour. Not enoghh rice to save it and we get free rice for life! LOL. Wife grew up in rice country around Stuttgart, ARK.

Latest one won’t keep a charge. I’ll try a store near me called batteries plus bulbs. Use the IPod to automatically down load podcasts.

I have always been under the assumption they couldn’t be replaced.

There are various places that will replace the battery, even listings on eBay where you mail in your iPod and they do it for you. To be honest, I said they can easily be replaced but it can be difficult for newer models, I admit to having difficulty on newer ones in cracking open the case, so better to have a store like the one you mentioned do it for you. In this day and age it's a throw-away-society rather than repair, which is a shame but technology advances so rapidly that it's the norm now. I hope scientists invent a new type of battery that won't need replacing!

I’m actually looking forward to getting better pricing for some services I already get ... but now in a package that I can piece together myself. That’a going to be great!

No ... you have been misinformed by someone who obviously is giving you false information about Apple. I appreciate Apple’s efforts towards privacy. They have been abundantly clear that they are not ‘following you’. If you’re concerned about that sort of thing, then ‘Apple’ is the company for you.

Yea indeed. I like the way I can find ‘content’ from the various services within the one Apple App ... and not have to go to each service individually. I’m looking forward to an even better ‘Apple TV’.

I went to fiber through AT&T. I did have DSL back in 2000 but gave that up for Cable Internet later, when I moved to another state. Now I’ve got fiber and I love that my uploads are as fast aa my downloads.

Apple said they are giving everyone the ability to choose just what they want ... for their own bundle. SO ... it looks like they did it.

Yeah, they're effectively forcing people to sign up for fiber by either refusing to do repair work on the older copper wire systems, or slow walking the work when they do. For those who refuse to hand money to Comcrap, there isn't much of a choice. Verizon's customer service is almost as bad as Comcrap's.

I finally threw in the towel, having had too many struggles trying to explain the latest outage situation to call center morons with strange accents whose only solution was to cycle power on the modem because that's what their script told them to do. To them, it was always my problem, not their system that was down. The briefest power glitch in the area brought down their phone and DSL service, and it could be hours or days before they would get around to rebooting whatever piece of equipment was the issue.

>The big attraction is HBO priced under $10

HBO is free for AT&T Cell customers. I have it, but not much quality stuff on HBO now.
