As far as I am concerned, anyone providing a service over wired/wireless/Internet/cellphone service is monitoring usage. Period.
Netflix is too close to Obama glad to switch.

Get ready to cosy up to Oprah ...
Apple could kill off cable TV for good,
Thats how they could keep prices low by letting customers decide what they want to pay to watch.
Its been a long time and finally here.
This streaming thing is powerful. I’m rewatching Homeland, already binged on 24, Dexter, Billions, Suits, Battlestar Galactica, and more.
Never watched so much TV in my life.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Dont care about Oprah and her ook club
Maybe she'll feature him.
More like an aggregator hub for content. Its all in one place and billed from
a central location.
You decide what fits you. You can finally cut the cable cord.
Thanks for the ping. I never understood why Apple did not aggressively going after the market earlier. The original AppleTV, over 10 years ago was revolutionary and without competition. They seemed to let it die out. This is a nice step to regain and reshape the market.
I disconnected cable and went to DSL because of cost.
It's a lot slower and I've had more downtime in 6 months than I had in 10 yrs with cable.
I'm about ready to switch back.
I no longer care what is on tv anymore. I partly blame FR for fueling my contempt for big entertainment. Good Bad or Indifferent the quality of the content doesnt move me to want to watch anything. Ditto the movies, spectator sports, the so called news and whatever else is considered a staple of the mass media. I imagine this attitude should save me a great deal of money in years to come.
Is it true that the main service (not the add-ons like HBO, Showtime, etc.) is still going to aim for a PG-13/TV-14 upper limit? I remember reading somewhere that there’s been a bit of a battle between Apple and Hollywood regarding the explicitness of the content that will make up the Apple originals. Apple doesn’t want any of their content to be as graphic as Game of Thrones, Spartacus, etc. At least that was the rumor.
Personally, I don’t mind adult themes and subject matter, but one thing I dislike about today’s “adult” programming is the excessive use of violence, nudity, and profanity. So often it’s obviously been included to appeal to man’s base instincts rather than for legitimate dramatic purposes.
HBO sucks
I hate Apple products.
Then stop buying and using them! The rest of us are happy with what we buy. Android sucks!
I did. Got tired of IPod batteries dying after a couple of years
Only thing worthwhile on it is Game Of Thrones.
Fox News had a constant BONG! every 15 minutes announcing a new breaking news story in their running byline. It was not true breaking newsit was only to manipulate you into paying closer attention to their channel. Of course, it made me turn it off in disgust. They had manipulated me for a while and then I realized my stupidity in believing they would ever have something important there.
We are saving a ton of money with videos from the library, watching 77 FREE stations from our antenna, and the large amount of free content on Amazon Prime for the flat yearly fee. We even get free same day delivery on a number of items, when getting $35 or more. We also are watching a bunch of free 4K resolution Amazon shows (4X the resolution of HD). Amazon made its own shows using that format, and we had t realized that until we plugged in our Prime access into our new Roku 4K TV.
The 4K content never showed to us on our computers when watching Prime. It took a 4K TV to make it appear.
A very nice surprise for a $249 Black Friday television.
Switch back and use it only for Internet.
