There always seem to be horrible smashy-crunchies in that area. First time I saw a vehicle on fire was there in the ‘90s.
At 70-85mph things happen quickly, especially in the fog.
A spitting rainstorm has been moving in from the coast all day...dark clouds and cold air.
I remember driving that stretch in a minivan loaded with 6 people...up the hill...accelerating still at 95mph when I looked at the speedometer.
There were people passing me.
