While your comment is “tongue in cheek” it’s actually on point. This is a simulation...global warming anyone?
Computer models does not a reality make. I highly doubt this simulator has the knowledge of how all our networked systems work together as a single entity, or what major advantages the avionics systems in an F-22 provide our pilots.
I’m no military expert but I do know computer simulations...and their weaknesses.
I have never seen the series.
If you have a clip link I would be grateful.
How would Russia fare in a war against the US if we invaded Cuba?
coughObamacarecough
Yep.
Turns out the guy with all the platitudes and other nonsense lied about have a degree from K.U.
Nice guy, but always “superior” you know...
To the tune of what, 1 trillion dollars?
I think Barack and friends, BTW, allowed ISIS to grow - to effect “change” in the Middle East.
And they sure did that. And I think that cost us a lot of money (and some lives) as well.
They could have slaughtered them in Iraq when they were in caravans. Some A-10’s and Apaches could have made short work of most of them.
He was here to destroy and destroy he did.
In Dr. Strangelove, I believe they consulted with the Bland Corporation.
Oh and yes, Jorge baked in a lot of disaster with nation building.
Then Barack and friends bailed out GM, spent over 1/2 a billion on Solyndra....etc. etc. etc.
What most people don't realize is that Sequestration cuts were above and beyond the Obama defense cuts that he had already initiated (and a RINO Congress approved). Sequestration required that almost 50% of all discretionary spending cuts come directly from the Pentagon budget.
During this time, China and Russia were rapidly modernizing their militaries.
The left will argue that per "dollar" of spending, the US still outpaces the spending of China and Russia. But that spending comparison is apples to oranges.
For one, we really don't know what China and Russia acutualy spend on their militaries - we guesstimate.
Secondly, the "dollar to dollar" comparisons are all wrong.
Let's take a simple example. Say the cost to the DoD for a pair of military boots is $200.
Included in that price is paying for safety regulations at plants, union scale wages, costly military spec testing and evaluation, attorneys, and environmental compliance.
The Chinese can produce a comparable pair of boots for their soldiers for less than $20 a pair. They don't care about any of the costs associated above.
Trump is doing all he can to re-fund out military, but in terms of GDP, our military spending is at historic lows.
The public grew tired of the seemingly endless wars and Iraq and Afghanistan. That also seems justified. We weren't trying to defeat an enemy, but win "hearts and minds" of Muslims. We spent billions on their infrastructure.
And at the cost of many of our jobs - The Great Decider really bankrupted the country. sigh
Could China kick Taiwan's ass? Sure... why should we defend it? Could Russia roll into the Baltics? I guess... but other than Poland and Hungary.. or a smattering of others... why should we suck up our treasure and blood for folks who have already surrendered to the Muzzies?
The problem that conservatives have to face up to is that Bush and Cheney got the whole thing going - made Al Qaeda and ISIS possible. And they are on "our" side of the able. Obama isn't running next time around. We have to make sure that Bush, Cheney and the neocons aren't either.
Their is not argument that Obama and Hillary were both incompetent and corrupt. The problem is that Bush and Cheney were incompetent and corrupt. And the conduct of the Iraq was was the most utterly incompetent op put together by anyone because they all forgot that once they booted Sadam - the easy part of the op, they had to run the whole place. And they had no 'effin clue how to run the whole place. So they went in for de-baathification and kicked every competent person in Iraq out of government. So every competent person in Iraq was forced to join Al Qaeda in order to eat and live. That was utter brainless corrupt incomepence and the Republicans, through Bush and Cheney and the neocons own that problem.
The problem for Republicans in the next election is not THEIR ghosts, but OUR Ghosts. We need to make clear that we are different from the Deep State whatever label they are using.
Whoever said that was totally correct. The outcome is never known once the box of war is opened.
Just advertising for Rand’s services. Ignore it. Our enemies aren’t so stupid they would believe it.
My absolute worst work experience was with a bank. Never worked with so many corrupt immoral people. Hated it. Glad to be out of that vipers nest.
You are on the right track with “The Chinese can produce a comparable pair of boots for their soldiers for less than $20 a pair. They don’t care about any of the costs associated above.”
When one loks at the Defense budgets expressed in “Big Macs”, i.e. normed for cost of inputs, they are much closer. Add in the fact that the Soviets, uhhh, Russians and Chinese are playing in their own backyard, the playing field is pretty level and we have the harder problem.
Compare the MTOE and Correlation of Forces Metrics for a Russian Bde and a U.S. one. We are on the short end of the stick, especially when it comes to fires.
I agree with you. Trump has long experience with paying attention to detail with projects to avoid disasters.
