I'm not trying to speak for Trump but,

I'm not speaking for Trump or making excuses, but I understand why Trump doesn't like McCain. McCain was arrogant, always has been. He came from privilege and we know how he got through the Naval Academy,....near the bottom. There are plenty of witnesses that knew him of the Forestall, but no one asks them what they think if it's negative about McCain.

I was in the military and there were plenty of brave men I met while in the military, but bravery doesn't qualify them to hold public office. I knew some that would thrown their life down to save someone else that you wouldn't want to be dog catcher and they possibly need to be in jail. I didn't know McCain personally, but I didn't like him by what he said and did over decades of "service". /sarc

What I saw is a man that was reasonable as long as he was in charge, but was NEVER a team player. The media hated him while Clinton was POTUS, but loved him when 43 was steering the ship. The reason was, McCain did everything he could to screw Dubyah. The media called him "Maverick". The truth is he was a RINO and everyone knows it. His picture is there under RINO on Wikipedia. He was jealous 43 was POTUS and wanted to embarrass him. By doing so, Republicans were screwed and He brought harm to the country. The media loved him fighting Bush, but when it was finally "his turn", The media hated him once again. Of course, it was Palin's fault he didn't win even though it easily provable that she brought anywhere from 15-30 percent to McCain's team. It couldn't be because he was a wishy washy piece of crap.

Now we come to Trump. It was quick to see that McCain was a "Never Trumper", in fact he might have been in the leadership. Now that Trump was elected and things are going so well, the Never Trumpers are SLOWLY melting away, but some, that have lost their positions now will never accept Trump fixing everything he touches and they have failed for 40 years. McCain was one of them. He took the "Dossier" and spread the word all around. Why would you do that knowing it came from Hillary? There was many more digs McCain tried while in the Senate, but cutting to the chase, He voted thumbs down on killing Obamacare. He made sure it took his vote and he made sure he came in the middle of the night on camera. That was his final statement to Trump before death and everybody is supposed fall down and worship McCain for it. I for one agree with Trump. he might not know how to say it gently, but why should he. The media will ask him 100 more times what he thinks about McCain just to get a story for the next cycle because someone like Trump (and Me) will not soften their response to make the medicine go down easier. That's what I admire most about Trump.

If they keep harping on Trumps opinion of McCain, there will be someone look into the Forestall incident, or look at other things the media have let slide over the years. I don't like speaking ill of the dead, but they should stop picking the scab.

the time for “North Mexico” was actually 1848 when the US had control of Mexico and had its government in custody. We should have annexed Mexico then.
. . . so that they could outvote our ancestors in 1852?

IMHO that was the very reason not to do it.

I will agree to forget his military record and concentrate on his betrayal of America in the Senate, but there are PLENTY of testimony about the Forestall incident that is NOT flattering to McCain. Anyone can serve in the military and even get an honorable discharge that probably needed to go to prison. I served with some. But they didn't go on to politics and use their military service and their dad as a springboard. What people do usually in a POW camp is try their best to survive.

Do you not think he felt the world owed him reverence because he was a POW? Every questionable thing that came up always ended up with his time in Hanoi. That's fine but it shouldn't buy you a spot in the Senate until you die in office. For me, it's no different that Robert Byrd being the "Dean" of the Senate" and forget his past even as he said the "N" word up until the bitter end.

McCain's treatment of Bush was horrendous and he played to the press as the "Maverick". Then when it was "his turn", the press hated him enough to give us Obama. Then he blamed Palin? What a worm! There are countless harmful votes where he sided with the Dems, but the last one with the thumbs down on Obamacare just to piss of Trump was pitiful. That was NOT HONORABLE! Forget all the good will he gets on the Hanoi Hilton! EFF HIM! Obamacare cost me my "Cadillac" insurance. I worked 30 years for less money to keep my insurance for LIFE! I had free insurance and it remained free when Medicare comes. I got free part B and D by my company. Now my insurance after retirement is $840 a month for worse coverage. When I retired I wasn't planning on paying a house payment size insurance payment that hasn't stopped increasing. Yeah, I'm pissed at Obama, but why couldn't we overturn it after giving Trump a Republican Senate? Turncoat RINO's like McCain, Flake, and a couple of others are not any better that traitors to me. If McCain had lived longer, I see him being the deciding vote on taking up AR 15's, or giving Amnesty to illegals, oh wait, he's already done that.

So no, I'm not happy with McCain even if he single highhandedly gave blow jobs to everyone in Hanoi.

Honestly, I don’t think you and I disagree much, but just leave the Forrestal part out.

Just to be clear, I am not sticking up in any way for McCain, I destest the man and what he stood for. All you say about him using his family name and POW status as a springboard, I agree with. You sound like you are arguing with me about it, and we don’t need to...

And I completely agree with your second to last paragraph regarding his behavior with respect to Obamacare. Believe me, I agree.

I do think we need to have our facts in order though.
