I do think you are right about deals, etc and the timing by the Derps to crash planes. A brilliant FReeQ - forgive me for not recalling which one - pointed out that the recent crashes could have something to do with some deals/contracts Trump is doing.... thereby bringing down the stock prices and reputation of the product.
FWIW, there is reportedly a patent for crashing planes, which according to the article cited, has been placed into most of the world’s air fleet. This is a link to a dig I did on that subject:

BREAKING NEWS ON MAX PLANES
Just as I’m writing this, I see a report on FAKE NEWS NBC approx 5:30 CDT - [don’t have a clue how the channel flipped to there! Only noticed after I wrote the following:]
that
the “crashed Boeing planes didn’t have safety features sold as extras.”
The report indicated what some of those features consisted of such as:
Angle of attack indicator - reads two exterior sensors to tell pilots the angle of plane
Disagreement Alert - if sensors provide conflicting information
Basic 737-MAX Computer - relies on just one sensor
Report stated that investigators in Indonesia believe that one faulty sensor fed bad data to the computer, putting it into a nosedive.
There will be an urgent software update:
Disagreement alert will become standard
Another problem noted included that most airlines do not have the MAX flight simulators for training. However, Ethiopian Airlines does. However the pilot on the flight that crashed had not used it yet, although he did complete the Boeing and FAA MAX training.
SW Airlines is waiting on a simulator and has the most MAX fleet. Pilots organizations are advocating policy of increased MAX pilot training.
