I believe our government is again, mixing up information on purpose. I have never, ever seen a direct link between sugar and heart disease. Ever.

Obesity, sure, stress, low activity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and the like. But a direct link between sugar and heart disease. Nope.

Only that in some people who consume lots of sugar get obese. Having a couple of obese people in my family, it is not sugar. It is everything. They over eat, daily, every meal, everything. Neither even drink soda and such.

also folks who drink lots of soda, are obese- usually don’t get much exercise either- people who drink a lot of soda, exercise regularly, usually live long healthy lives- The french smoke like fiends, eat high fat diets, and love their sugar/pastries etc- yet they were healthy and had long lives because they worked hard (note, yes, there are exceptions- but this is likely due to genetics-)

Studies like the above fail to mention that the increased heart diseases are likely due to lack of exercise

I agree that it’s most likely correlation and not causation. Definite overlap between people in poor health and people who consume crap like sugary drinks and other garbage.

Sorry, but the reality is, the larger the percentage of calorie intake that comes from sugar, the higher your likeluhood of heart disease, even IF your overall calorie intake, weight, BMI etc are all at healthy levels.

High amounts of sugars cause your liver to pump more dangerous and unhealthy fats into your bloodstream, resulting in plaque buildup and heart disease.

Your proposition that its simply folks who are generally less healthy who consume high sugar is not in line with the studies or facts.
