Gas prices just shot up here about a week ago...took a long time for that April 2016 fire to have an effect ?
Oh boy. Gas prices going up another dime.
Every Spring and Fall when the government mandated gasoline formulas come on line sections that have been idil are fired up and things can happen.
Ah, yes, spring is in the air...the birds, the butterflies, the smell of oil refineries burning, and...gas prices rising.
Im really beginning to wonder about these oil refinery fires.
I live in Baytown. This is a small fire. People outside of Texas cannot comprehend just how big the Baytown Exxon- Mobile complex is. It is the largest refinery complex in the United States. They just finished a $15 Billion addition about a year ago, and that is only a very small portion of the entire complex.
It appears that the safety and containment systems worked quite well. Given what they do, fires are inevitable. It is the containment that is important - keep the event small.
I know, I worked out there for close to 20 years.
Fire in tube or fire in shell?
I just had heard that a tube blowed in the boiler, not a heat exchanger and I know they are both called boilers. These tubes, usually 4 inch, are in the heater, also called a boiler.
Also called a furnace.
