A large-scale scheme to cheat on college entrance exams has been busted by the FBI and federal prosecutors in Boston, according to court documents unsealed Tuesday.
The alleged scheme focused on getting students admitted to elite universities as recruited athletes, regardless of their athletic abilities, and helping potential students cheat on their college exams, according to the indictment.
The plot involved students who attended or were seeking to attend Georgetown University, Stanford University, UCLA, the University of San Diego, USC, University of Texas, Wake Forest, and Yale, according to federal prosecutors. There's no indication that the schools were involved in any of the wrong-doing.
In all, 12 people, some of them college coaches, have been indicted in the scheme.
Spot on.
BU mens lacrosse was a club sport until 2013 14 season
I was there for a hockey tournament, catched the game between periods.
You are wrong. Lacrosse is a fantastic sport. You have to be a top athlete and most are at least two sport athletes in high school. Most lacrosse players are top academic students. I know male and female players at many of these colleges. Our black running back at HS played Div I lacrosse.
This is my shocked face.

I challenge you to find more than 5 schools in the U.S. that teach computer science better than Bama. And did you know that half of the scientist who worked on the Apollo project in Huntsville that put man on the moon had aeronautical engineering degrees from Auburn?
These are all liberal arts colleges. The kids would never survive if they were taking STEM courses. They should take dna or finger prints with the SATs. The Asians all cheat like hell on them.
The FBI just announced that they had 300 agents working this case, at least on the arrest phase which occurred today. I wonder if automatic weapons were involved? I also wonder about how this scam stacks up against other crimes, like, say, The Clinton email fraud, the Clinton Foundation, the Deep State conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. Government. Are 300 agents working those cases?
Two words. Jim Brown. Was all-amerian lacrosse player at Syracuse before his NFL career.
Thanks. Was going to mention that but ran out of room in my post. Jim Brown played lacrosse and football at Manhasset high school Long island NY. He was not the running back at our high school who went on to play Div 1 lax.
Makes one wonder what they were willing to do to get their acting roles.
Our running back did. He decided to play lax rather than football. Also another kid at Harvard played lax over football. As you know, no athletic scholarships at Ivys.
Good post. WASCWatch exposed itself as the biggest idiot on this thread. College degrees from the SEC are as valuable as they are anywhere else. I look at hundreds of resumes every year and could care less where the applicant went to school.
It was a joke.
This s nothing new. But something to keep in mind with your next young actor/actress, or rich kid in general, who seems stupid but tries to lord it over you with their college credentials.
This is a result of title IX. Colleges are forced to admit into college enough women athletes to match the mens tea,s. Colleges do this by cancelling mens programs like swimming and wrestling and creating fake womens sports like crew. The problem is there arent enough college aged women who are interested in crew and there really isnt a high school pipeline for those oarswomen. You could probably fill the Ivy League with womens rowers, but every college now has womens crew as a college sport.
According to USN&WR, Auburn is #91. Alabama isnt in the top 100.
You may quibble about how they arrive at the rankings, but they arent going to mis-rate a school by at least 95 positions.
Judging by who I see coming out of there, I’m not impressed in the least.
