Useless article. Chicago 91? Sure, the safer areas of predominant European ancestors offset the dangerous south side of predominant African ancestors which would certainly be in the top 10.
I wager all are led by dems. It is outrageous that this situation exists. Take back America. Trump knows this. Our chance is 2020. State, local and federal elections. MAGA!
Maybe an even worse stat:
Which pro teams have never won a super bowl?
Which teams have never won a Super Bowl now?
Here are the 12, in alphabetical order:
Arizona Cardinals
Atlanta Falcons
Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Detroit Lions
Houston Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars
Los Angeles Chargers
Minnesota Vikings
Tennessee Titans
Very likely that many of these places (like Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Baltimore, and others) have very high black on black violent crime rates and that in turn plays that significant role, as opposed to the lack of gun control. It would be expected then, using the article’s logic as a guide, to have cities or locales in Montana, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Idaho, and the Dakotas to be on this list.
Great list, save it for migrating leftist Californians.
Move to here!
This may not be politically correct enough for FR so I’m just going to link it.

Lots of wide open spaces in Gary these days - and not so many people any more...
Asbury Park & Atlantic City, NJ violent crime rate per 1,000
The demographics are what you would expect in eight of the cities if you are paying attention as to who commits the majority of violent crimes in this country. The other two have severe drug problems.
....but no one wants to say it.
I'm in Arkansas and we have 5 on the list of 100 (Little Rock, Pine Bluff, West Memphis, Helena, and Marion).
Let me tell you something, we KNOW what the problem is. The complete breakdown of the black nuclear family. No white person, nor sane black person would be caught at night in these towns. Little Rock is different in that the Heights, Hillcrest, and West Little Rock neighborhoods are majority white. Also, the towns of Benton, Cabot, and Conway (which when I was a child were <5,000 people) are now 100,000+ 90%+ white.....and thus in the top 100 SAFEST cities.
I can't remember who said it, but if you take out the violent crime rate of towns that have 50.1% or higher black population, our crime rate would be somewhere between Vatican City and Iceland.
The mid west looks like a crime zone.
Texarkana has a population of 37k but is ranked #54. This study makes it seem you can’t walk down Main Street without being blown away and serial killers on every corner. It’s the wild west all over again.
However, many of these communities are adjacent to larger metropolitan areas, such as #4 McKeesport, PA (population: 19,731), which is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, and Florida City, FL falling just outside of the Miami border.
Many of these smaller communities have violent crime rates similar to the most dangerous neighborhoods of the larger cities they are adjacent to, and in many cases, they border these neighborhoods. The difference is that the larger cities also have more affluent, low crime areas that lower their overall violent crime rates, while their smaller satellite cities do not.
McKeesport is a poster boy for this sort of thing. It is a tiny little 'burb of Pittsburgh, crime is mostly druggies and dealers fighting over turf or shooting each other because of unpaid debts. It takes only a few such incidents to grow it way out of portion relative to population.
Sort of like if OK Corral was counted separately from Tombstone, Arizona.

Seems to correlate to black populations. Blacks, as a group, are off-the-charts violent, killing at rate six to seven times that of non-blacks.
Agree that list is garbage. Article starts out as a hit piece on gun control but includes classes of crime without identifying those involving guns. Also, classification of Violent Crime includes threat of violence, which certainly increases the number of crimes. Author would have done better to gear study to social economic status and race, but then those topics are taboo in today’s society.
Ahhh, I was referring to the worst top ten...And the Midwest and south seems to stand out...No?
1.Anniston Alabama
2 Bessemer Alabama
3 Florida City Florida
4 McKeesport Pennsylvania
5 St. Louis Missouri
6 Detroit Michigan
7 Baltimore Maryland
8 Memphis Tennessee
9 Camden County New Jersey
10 Opa Locka Florida
When I was young, in the 50's, Memphis was the safest and cleanest city of its size. Blacks in the city limits were about 30%. Now they are 63%.
