Well, maybe my opinion is skewed because I mostly hang with the after-work crowd. I can’t remember a single time where politics ever came up.
Yeah, I thought about it afterward and figured that was what you probably meant. Yes, those places are definitely better. They tend to be in different areas of the city than to where I was referring.
Depends on the neighborhood....and type of bar.
For me after work, it was ball & beer joints in Southern Manhattan. I stayed away from the fern bars when they started popping up.
The “neighborhood bars” in B’klyn, Queens and the Bronx were pretty much like local club houses.
