Actually, that was just this year's "Miss America" contest there in New Jersey. Organizers recognized in the past that many pulchritudinously challenged women were being unfairly discriminated against in that contest, so they decided to do away with the "pretty face" component of the contest this year. (Last year, they eliminated the swimsuit competition, for similar reasons.)
