WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday asked Congress in his fiscal 2020 budget to slash spending for foreign aid while increasing spending on the military and for the wall he wants to build on the U.S.-Mexico border, a senior administration official told reporters.

The budget would raise defense spending by 4 percent to $750 billion, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity, while cutting foreign aid by $13 billion. Over a decade, the blueprint would cut $1.9 trillion from mandatory spending through proposed reforms, the official said.

We’ve been shipping cash to criminals for decades.
In return, they hate us.
FINALLY. Someone’s putting a stop to it.

I remember Obama’s budgets getting voted down about 97-0 by the Senate. Then the House never passed a budget, which is why we have CRs and shutdowns.

It will be interesting to see if the new Democrat House does its Constitutional mandated job of producing a budget.

Haha.

This whole thing speaks to what I love about trump: Other politicians talk, but he actually does something. How many presidents before him said they favored moving our embassy to Jerusalem? But he just did it. It wasn’t even a campaign promise. It needed to be done, the others all said they would do it - but he actually DID it.

And it speaks to the other thing I love about him: Intelligent people ignore what he says and focus on what he does. The audience for his words is the whole world, including America’s enemies and his political enemies. He is the master troll. Love it!

Stop ALL foreign aid to EVERYONE. Restore it on a case-by-case basis only when it provides a clear benefit to the United States. Disaster relief and humanitarian aid should be VOLUNTARY.

Thank you for referencing that article simpson96.

Patriots are reminded that Justice Joseph Story had noted that Congress cannot use the General Welfare Clause (1.8.1) as an excuse to justify appropriating taxes for foreign aid.

If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” —Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2

So PDJT’s uncommon common sense is once again helping to push the nation back on its constitutional foundation.

Remember in November 2020!

MAGA!

All foreign aid should be eliminated. I’m sure I’ll get some hate but we don’t really need to increase defense budget unless it’s to build a wall.

Why do we continue the charade of submitting budget proposals to Congress? It’s a waste of everyone’s time.
