Well, then I am being presumptuous. I don't live in Alabama so you could be right. But I doubt it. Roy Moore won the primary quite handily ... 26,000 votes more than Luther Strange and 81,000 votes more than Mo Brooks (whom I also liked). And that was despite the GOP-E putting weight behind Strange. Roy Moore *was* the candidate Alabamians chose. But all that changed in the final election as he was Kavanaugh'd successfully. I'd say good folks from Alabama were fooled by the Kavanaugh'ing. And I hope, if Roy Moore wins the primary again, they will not be fooled a second time.

Donald Trump won Alabama by a wide margin in 2016 despite every pile of mud in creation being thrown at him. Anyone interested in running for offic should take a lesson from Trump and see how to respond to political mudslinging.
People will vote for candidates they perceive as winners. They have no interest in supporting awful candidates who are losers. Nobody had to be fooled into recognizing Roy Moore as an unappealing loser.
