I was on the Hazmat team so I had to get a very complete physical every year. Everyone on the fire department had to get their shots every year. So I had several shots a year for 25 years to help protect me against all the nasty stuff we assisted people with. I haven't actually had an inoculation since I retired. My wife thinks I should get the pneumonia shot since I seem to have sensitive lungs after some of the bad chemical exposures that I had.
Nasty is an understatement. Some of the vacants they’d light up when I worked the ghetto were unbelievable. They shoot up in the vacants and shit in 5 gallon buckets. Then when another house became vacant they’d move to the cleaner one and torch the old one. Houses never sold there. People just walked away to get away.
Dont know about you but I worry about my asbestos exposure. Time in the navy and power plants. Ive had two people with similar histories that have died from asbestos exposure. Sorry about the lung issues. We did things that might have been bad but you have to make a living. A shot to help prevent disease is handy. Wish there was one for smoke and asbestos exposure. The exposure to diseases we had mostly gotten rid of are back with illegals and no one has really acknowledged it, to bad. Be safe.
