What a waste of talent....

According to Wikipedia...

Vincent battled alcoholism and intravenous drug use for much of his life. In 1977, 1978 and 1979 he was arrested for possession of cocaine and in 1984 and 1985 he was arrested after two bar brawls.

He also received a felony assault charge in 1986, of which he was acquitted, after his attorney argued that the woman tripped and fell on a telephone cord in his home.

He then was arrested for drunk driving but avoided jail by entering rehab in 1988. In 2000 a $374,000 default judgment was made against him after his former girlfriend alleged he had physically assaulted her after their breakup and caused her to miscarry their child.

Poor guy, I think he had to have one of his legs amputated form some reason. He had a slow slide into drugs and alcohol when his career went south.

He was a good actor and I enjoyed a lot of what he did, Godspeed Jan.

Nice before picture. Lets add 40 years of booze and coke+ the possibility that he slept with Hollywierdos to become famous:

The guy was perfect in that role. He was one of the highest paid actors, during that show.

Also, that show broke a record for the highest price paid for a theme song, or some such thing.

I really liked Airwolf with the original actors.

I remember him in “Hooper” with Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, James Best, and Brian Keith. Very good in the role of the young and upcoming stuntman who joins forces with Burt’s character with that record car stunt.

I read that if he didn’t do drugs, Airwolf would have been a bigger hit than it was and possibly had a respectable ten season run.

Being comfortable and secure in my hetrosexuality I can safely say he was a very attractive man in his day and seemed like a genuinly nice guy. Terrible shame abi=out his demons. As a Christian I do hope he found peace with THE Father along his lifes journey.

RIP Jan.

I hope that he finally rests in peace. But Vincent was a prime example of what happens if you are addicted to alcohol and/or drugs. When he was young, he was a good looking, wealth actor with a career as a leading man ahead of him and the world at his feet. As time went on, he transformed into the most pitiful creature. If you know any young people who seem to be hitting the booze or drugs too hard, tell them the story of Jan Michael Vincent.

He was in a serious car wreck that broke his neck and did brain damage. Years later he had a leg amputated due to an infection. Addiction started the mess but illness and an accident worsened it.
