Yep, reminds me of RGB. Hopefully it won’t take a month to hear that she died.
Talk about a guy who once had it all.
Yep, I’ll always remember Darren McGavin for three things: Tribes, Kolchak, and the “Old Man”.
YIKES!
Gee, thank goodness he found some hair dye, otherwise people would have suspected he’s old.
My Wife’s Family knew him when he was a Teenager. He was buddies with her Cousin.
The Girls thought he was a handsome devil back then.
The guy had a difficult life. RIP...
He was in pretty bad shape whenever that pic was taken, I can only imagine it got worse in a hurry.
Also in “The Winds of War”.
Yes, did not mean to imply that Conrad is dead, was just relating that Conrad had also been in a serious car crash, that’s pretty well debilitated him.
And Conrad is the lucky one. The 26-year-old in the other car lived 2 more years.
He was interesting in a small role as the Bowling alley manager in ‘Buffalo ‘66’ with Vincent Gallo and Christina Ricci.
It’s a wonder he lived to see 74.
Tribes was a movie of the week
Hippie in boot camp basically
I was I think ninth grade
Revolting draftee
Begrudgingly sympathetic drill instructor ....Darren McGavin
Pretty typical Hollywood treatment but some nuance to its credit
I remember seeing “The World’s Greatest Athlete” in the early to mid-1970s. Also had Tim Conway. One of the funniest movies I ever saw and a great memory from my youth.
Not sure about recently but a few years ago he was living in Eagle Lake MS.
Me too. And he nailed all those roles
No. I was a lunch pail and roach coach kinda guy back in those days.
I recall a 60 Minutes (or 20/20) story on him where they found him in the backwoods of NC living in a trailer with no electricity, etc. looked like a meth addict, but may have simply been schizophrenic or bipolar... really sad.
My grandfather had a camp there briefly
Fishing
Lake Bruin was much better
Water skiing
Eagle Lake is near great deer hunting though
