If the opening sentence is true, it is a scathing damning indictment of “many economists” who probably think of themselves as competent. The widespread eased allowing of “disability” ratings during the prolonged recession was a manifestly transparent tactic to reduce the unemployment numbers. It had been used in various Euro countries during the 90’s when needed, and was obvious to the casual observer here after 2009’s “green shoots” turned brown.
