VOLUSIA COUNTY (CBSMiami) A Central Florida couple is crediting Bella for saving their lives. Bella is not their daughter or their dog, she is their cat. Paul and Leona Jones say when they got home from eating dinner on Feb. 27, they just wanted to get inside out of the rain. In their haste, they forgot to push the off button on their car.
It sat in the garage all night emitting carbon monoxide, silently poisoning the entire house.
At around 1:00 a.m., Bella started crying and woke them up.
Weak from inhaling so much carbon monoxide, Leona was barely able to call 9-1-1. Fire fighters administered oxygen to the couple and Bella then took them to the hospital.

Wanted to be fed?
Looking for a boyfriend?
You cannot smell carbon monoxide so get a detector and check the batteries at the start and end of Daylight Saving time this Saturday night.
Fire fighters administered oxygen to the couple and Bella then took them to the hospital.
...
The cat drove them to the hospital, too.
Maybe she was getting sick from it.
“In their haste, they forgot to push the off button on their car. It sat in the garage all night emitting carbon monoxide, silently poisoning the entire house.”
Stupid idiots; either stoned or drunk.
Automobiles come with so many bells and whistles these days. Why can’t they come with something that detects dangerous carbon monoxide then shuts the car off?
But Toonces ran into a couple other cars on the way...
If they did that, cars in LA would cut off going down the freeway.
How stupid can you get.
They are already out of the rain. They’re in the damn garage.
Idiots, cat just wanted to eat could give to litter box loads about the drunken owners
If they were parking in an attached garage, they weren’t going to get wetter than they already were.
I’m thinking a bit tipsy from “dinner” myself.
PS,
Cats dont care about anything other than themselves.
I am thinking idiots
“Cats dont care about anything other than themselves.”
As someone who likes cats and dogs and has had both, simply untrue.
“The cat drove them to the hospital, too.”
In modern “journalism” spelling, grammar, punctuation and facts are racist, sexist, patriarchal, misogynistic, homophobic, islamophobic, transphobic, ageist and every other ist, ism, phobic and ism that may trigger someone.
Therefore spelling, punctuation, grammar and facts are to be relegated to the dustbin of history.
RESIST WE MUCH!!!
Florida Cat?!?! ;)
As some one who has both, Cats don’t give a crap about anything other than themselves and to believe any different is well...never mind
I read many years ago a story about a man who returned home(His garage was directly underneath his bedroom) he forgot to turn off the car, went to sleep and died..they found out it was due to carbon monoxide poisoning from the car. I know on the newer model Mercedez(My Mom has the E class from 2013) whenever she leaves the car you see a red light appear on the dashboard that says “Dont forget your keys”
I hear you. If there was a grammar police reserve, I’d be in it. The article comes from a TV station, not dead tree media. It is worthwhile to cut them some slack because, well, they make gaffes in their printed news all the time and you can burn out chasing them.
As a at owner, er, owned by a cat, I can confirm that.
