Look at the pictures. The battery didn’t burn, just right wing propaganda. LOL.

Well I consider right wing propaganda to be a whole lot better that fools propaganda.

If anyone actually sat down and scientifically looked at all the facts regarding electric cars then they would come to the conclusion that it is insanity. They are a net negative on pretty much every measure. There are only a few applications where electric cars make any sense.

I'm not quite sure about the insurance aspects of that Tesla that caught fire OUT ON THE ICE ON A LAKE but I would not be surprised that the insurance company will attempt to deny any claims for damage considering the fact that it was out on a surface that is typically off limits to vehicular traffic.....

n Michigan, once that vehicle hits the water after ice-out, you get a hefty fine from the DEQ and are court ordered to remove it at your own cost.

Marine salvage ain’t cheap.

You got that right and the insurance companies will not cover the vehicle.........

I remember a number of years ago where some kid here in Macomb County decided to access Lake St. Clair via the Selfridge ANG base boat ramp and once he got out on the lake, the van promptly broke thru the ice. The dumbass kid tried to explain to his parents that the van was stolen.........LOL!

Your 30 to one number is bull crap from some liberal organization. It makes zero sense. I have read about 2 Tesla fires in the last week(guy was killed in one of them). So 3636 x 2 = 7272. Do you you think that many gas car fires happened in the last week in the US? It is so rare to even read about one.

” It is so rare to even read about one.”

Hmmm. You must be referring to the guy that hit a semi and shared the whole top off his car!

Or maybe you are referring to the guy that ran off the road at 90 mph in a 50 mph zone?

Actually at first I wrote a detailed post laying out a lot of facts. Then I decided everyone would just consider it rambling. So I wiped the list. The real truth is that if you were willing to do even a little bit of your own research and use a little bit of you own brain then you would figure it out for yourself. You need to look at the entire life of and electric car. Cradle to grave. You need to look at all the facts regarding the batteries. You need to look at the real cost to the environment. When it comes to electric cars then you have been brainwashed by a liberal progressive agenda that cares nothing about facts or truth.

As long as the power source of an electric car is a battery anywhere near current technology then Electric cars are insanity.

Did you know that storing energy in a battery is just like storing Gasoline in a container with a hole in the bottom of it.

The older the battery then the bigger the hole. Batteries loose energy as they sit doing nothing. And the energy in(charging) does not equal the energy out. Have you ever felt the heat given off by a battery that is charging. That heat is energy being wasted. What about an older battery where you charge it for hours while it is getting hot. And yet when you go to use that battery it only lasts a short time. Lots of energy went in. Very little(or none) came back. Now apply that to millions of electric car batteries.

It was an accident in Florida. Obviously the same result was possible in a gas powered car. But in an electric car there is a pretty much a probably of 100 percent that such and accident will result in an instant and massive fire with zero chance of escape.

But it sounds like you know of another incident that I missed.

Think about why ICE vehicles have radiators and exhaust pipes.

Ever feel the hood of your car or touch the exhaust pipe?

Wasted energy.

Also note that all car fires count in these numbers. Gas or electric. Accident or not.

Yes that is true. Finding a way to capture that energy is a more sensible idea. In the winter time that energy heats the passenger cabin and the windshield. Isn’t that wonderful.
