The latest instance of Marvel Studios wringing out every last drop of ink they can is Captain Marvel. Never heard of her? Thats because this is the characters first appearance in a major film. Plundering the vault for lesser-known creations has paid off for the Disney-owned company so far: Black Panther made over $1 billion and scored a Best Picture nomination.
Captain Marvel, on the other hand, made an Oscar winner best known for playing a captive mother take on a role she is 100-percent wrong for while attempting to sell Jude Law to us as an action star like hes a Louis Vuitton bag on Canal Street.

Multiple internet vloggers, affectionately known as “The Fandom Menace”, are having a field day with this. ‘Loving every second of it.
See That Star Wars Girl, Geeks & Gamers, The Fourth Age, SC Reviews, and links off those.
Every single on-screen burly CIA contractor is getting beat-up by hot, big-boobed 15 year old chicks flipping their hair around.
The formula is tiring.
I know some of those sites; great stuff. I wonder if Star Wars Girl gets a lot of grief for being a class enemy.
“Zero interest in seeing this. Does not help Larson has spouting racist, anti-male platitudes for the promotion tour. Waiting for Endgame.”
Same here - and I hope she doesn’t figure prominently in End Game, but I fear she will.
The trailer was too long, I could only make it halfway. Don’t imagine I’ll ever make it through the whole movie, even on cable.
I watch the trailer and I still can’t figure out what the movie is about.
I have no desire to see Captain Misandrist
Quite so. It's been going for over 40 years now. One must stop viewing such tripe. Do continue to do so will surely bring madness.
The two things that greatly help determine whether my wife and I will bother to see a film (on DVD or on-demand) are:
- If it is 'critically acclaimed' then nope.
- The longer the trailer the worse the film will be.
Will give this a miss.
Getting a bit tired of 98% CGI anyway.
Yeah, there was alot of epic-y music and dramatic camera angles, but the story appeared to be as compelling and interesting as Gillette razor commercial.
I was going to say wake me up when someone makes a movie on the order of ‘The Hustler’, ‘Bonnie & Clyde’, ‘Patton’, ‘Godfather’, ‘Chinatown’, etc. But then you’d need someone who could write a screenplay, and others that could actually act. I guess a bunch of comic book, CGI nonsense is all we can expect these days.
Disagree. It does have an aim ... that of setting the stage for Avengers: End Game.
The chans have a pic of her toe fungus and are calling her Captain Fungus.
Enjoy your nap, Mr. Vanwinkle.
Why doesn’t the reviewer tell us how they really feel? LOL
That type of content is the niche of premium cable channels.
The only reason for seeing this is more Sam J, and validating or invalidating fan theories regarding where the 50% of all living things went after thanos snapped his gauntleted fingers. In other words, a lightweight stepping stone to “End Game.”
The movie will make money, but not nearly the big opening originally projected thanks to the zero in the lead role and her rancid politics.
Still gonna see it when it comes to rentable on cable......heh...cable “...is dubstep still a thing?”
KYPD
The good thing about YouTube is I can let the geeks go to the movie and then watch their videos about how this movie ties into Endgame.
