James Dunn - Annie Laurie (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
James Dunn singing "Annie Laurie" from the 1945 film A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Dunn would win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this role. The movie was directed by Elia Kazan, also in the scene are Dorothy McGuire, Peggy Ann Garner, and Ted Donaldson.

I cry every time!
IIRC, it was a popular book during WWII...I seem to recall hearing a lot of references to guys reading that paperback.
I have never seen the movie...going to have to check it out.
Wonderful movie. Wonderful book. I first saw the movie when I was about 12, then read the book. I’ve read the book at least twice since.
The book was better....imho.
I’m going to give it a try...
