I’ve just never understood this community’s hang-up with ‘vanities’.
For me, I don’t like clicking on a headline only to find out the article is useless prattling over issues of no importance to anyone but the author. If FReepers cannot forego the luxury of an unexpressed thought, the comment sections should be the go-to.

I dont like clicking on a headline only to find out the article is useless prattling over issues of no importance to anyone but the author. You can set FR to display the headlines accompanied by the first fifty words or so of the article. That's how I have mine set, which gives me the ability to quickly see whether I'm interested in the content.
Saves me a lot of wasted clicks.
