Hillary Clinton blames gutting of Voting Rights Act for her 2016 loss

SELMA, Ala. — Speaking Sunday at the historic Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, former Secretary of State, First Lady, and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton suggested a key Supreme Court decision may have cost her the White House.(snip)

“I was the first person who ran for president without the protection of the Voting Rights Act and I will tell you, it makes a really big difference,” Clinton said.

Clinton prefaced her comments by discussing the history of the Voting Rights Act, which was passed in 1965. The law required federal oversight of voting in nine southern states and an array of other jurisdictions that were found to have engaged in discriminatory practices. Clinton noted the law was reauthorized by Congress in 2006 while she was in the Senate.

“It was based on thousands and thousands of pages of testimony as to why we ... needed the Voting Rights Act. I thought it was a done deal, passed out of the Congress, signed by a Republican president, and then it found its way to the Supreme Court,” Clinton recounted.

Clinton said Republicans who wanted to “pull back rights” were behind the legal challenge that brought the 2013 Supreme Court decision, in which conservative justices struck down the core of the law.

“They found a receptive Supreme Court who came up with the most absurd decision,” said Clinton, adding, “They gutted the Voting Rights Act.”(snip)

“It doesn’t just make a difference in Alabama and Georgia. It made a difference in Wisconsin where the best studies that have been done said somewhere between 40,000 and 80,00” thousand people were turned away from the polls because of the color of their skin, because of their age, because of whatever excuse could be made up to stop a fellow American citizen from voting,” Clinton said.

So Trump ran with the Voting Rights Act? Or are you just a idiot?

Bitterness thy name is sore-loser Clinton...

“I was the first person who ran for president without the protection of the Voting Rights Act and I will tell you, it makes a really big difference,” Clinton said.

Wong, Donald Trump also ran for President at the same time. You weren't the first. Oh, and there were elections before the act too.

“They found a receptive Supreme Court who came up with the most absurd decision,” said Clinton...

Absurd, like maybe requiring ID and proof of citizenship prior to voting? Or proof that you live in the district you're trying to vote in? Why yes, that does sound absurd! I mean, how's a 'rat supposed to commit voter fraud and get elected in such an environment!? ;-/

...where the best studies that have been done said somewhere between 40,000 and 80,00” thousand people were turned away from the polls because of the color of their skin, because of their age, because of whatever excuse could be made up to stop a fellow American citizen from voting,” Clinton said.

Ha! The "...best studies..." by which of course you mean the ones tilted to produce an outcome you wanted.

Oh, and the rest is an out and out lie. If people were turned away from the polls it was simply due to their inability to prove their citizenship and residency in the district. The rest is just spin, excuses, and lies made up by you, you worthless race-baiting {expletive}.

So what’s next?

I predict that Hillary will add Global Warming to her blame list. “People didn’t come out to vote for me because it was too darn hot!”

That’s the STUPIDEST thing I’ve ever heard.

Delusional.

The ONLY way that vote harvesting will end is if those who benefit by it fear for their lives.

They are taking away our right to elect our representatives.

They are telling us who they have chosen to rule us.

They are taking away our freedom.

Isn’t it racist of her to say she ran without the protections of the voting rights act?

Is she implying that she would have gotten huge numbers of votes from black voters, who didn’t get to vote? Isn’t it racist to just assume blacks will vote Democrat? What is she really saying here?

The voting rights act is/was intended to protect voters rights, not politicians rights to get votes of certain groups of people.

Hate and calling Americans that supported Donald J. Trump for POTUS “Deplorables, killed Hillary Clinton politically.

And...to boot, African-Americans that invited Hillary Clinton to the “Selma Bridge” celebration gotta have a few screws loose in the brains department. Clinton, Bush, Obama did zilch, zero, to assist, aid and advance African-Americans from their economic slavery and poverty status for the last fifty years. Just take a close look at the major cities run by Democrat politicians for last fifty years.

POTUS, Trump has done more to further the opportunities for African-Americans, then any Democrat ever did!!

You lost because you are an unlikeable b!tch.

If not for fraudulently documented foreigners voting, it wouldn’t have been close.

She’s like herpes on America. Never goes away, and always good for a flare up.
If Trump did nothing but eat cheeseburgers and watch TV for 4 years, he did a giant service to America by keeping her out of the White House.
