Have you seen this crash test? 1959 vs 2009. You would think that big monster Chevy would have beat out the smaller, modern version.

We went on a town tour in Alaska where a lady drove us around in her 55 Chevy 4 door. It was a blast. (Ketchikan IIRC).

Years ago I saw a “skateboarding” video where the group took an old 1959 Cadillac convertible, cut off the back fins and opened up a hole in each where the fin had been. They then padded the heck out of it and made each rear “nodule” into a kind of rumble seat to fit two extra guys, one on each side. Pretty funny.
I think that if there had been any sort of accident, though, decapitation would have been the order of the day.

I’ve got a 67 Camaro.
On these vintage of cars you could open the hood and see the ground underneath.
On the new stuff you can drop a wrench or socket and maybe never get it back LOL.

I love the back end but it looks better without the Continental kit. Best if stock or close to it. The front end styling was a troubling hint of the bad years to come (60-64).
Used to be a red and white one around here with a license plate that read “FINE 59”. It certainly was!
