Ok - I retract my last I missed the 35-40 lb part there... I still think that’s a low estimate.

40 lb.s might be low but 100 lb.s is probably a bit high. Here's the necropsy report.

Looks to me like half or less of the body was scavenged.

No need to retract though. They're just guessing too. And even a 40 lb. lion could mess a guy up pretty badly.
