‘Orders’ have to come down to some police chief, and he will issue the order for a ‘fetch-the-weapons’ episode. Ten cops go out to enforce it....one cop gets seriously wounded or killed. The question then comes up to the Chief...about enforcement. He’ll grin and move onto episode number two, and they end up burying some cop, and at that point, respect is lost for the chief. Dead cops have a value that politicians and police chiefs can’t take away.
On the other side of this....if you know you are on the confiscation list...the first thing I’d do is remove the weapon from my house or property, and ensure that the cops walk away empty-handed.
When the cops come to the door and ask why the gun isn’t there...just respond that ‘an alien’ came last night...taking it for safe-keeping. Then suggest that the alien lives in a sanctuary city, and weapons can’t be confiscated there.
Not only that, there isn’t any due process. I am half-tempted to call in false accusations on known leftists if it ever comes down to my own state.
