I use braces often. One thing I'd note is that you can zero-pad when using numbers. i.e., {01..10} will expand as 01, 02, 03 ...
This is actually a fairly timely article for me. I have a script that runs every day that gathers certain statistical information in log files. This script outputs the data into a date-stamped filename like stats-20190228.txt, so at the end of the month I end up with one file of stats per day. Then I run a script with a "for x in {01..28}; do grep blah stats-201902$x.txt" construct to dump key elements into a file formatted so I can import it into a spreadsheet for monthly totals. Boss likes the pretty charts I generate. I discovered a long time ago that the occasional bit of pretty charts will keep most bosses happy for longer than you'd believe.
