It was a chilly winter night in Greenville, South Carolina and Emerson and Maya were on Girl Scout duty selling cookies outside a store.
At one point, a man approached the stand and bought seven boxes of cookies worth $40, and told them to keep the change, according to cookie manager Kayla Dillard.
Then, he went back to the table and said: Pack up all of your cookies. Im taking them all so yall can get out of this cold, Dillard said in a Facebook post. He spent $540 on cookies, she said.

While a good gesture, not a good lesson to teach.
No one is going to bail you out of responsibilities when you’re an adult.
He’s a good man.

Agree 100%
Just taught the girls that if they say “Poor me” or look sweet and innocent, some big strong man with a wallet is going to give them money.
Sounds like a stripper / daddy relationship.
It was a good lesson showing the girls that there are good Samaritans. The girls will appreciate that and realize it was not a “bail out”.
And I thought I was a cynic.
Emerson?
I dont buy the cookies anymore. I refuse to support a group that teaches abortion and feminism.
Thailand?

Greenville is in the up country. Mountains. Lot of good places to eat. Lot of arts and craft hippies live up there. I’m sure the cookies didn’t go to waste.
I wont criticize a generous man but in retrospect why not just purchase a good amount and let them sell the rest on a warmer day if need be.
And why were their parents allowing them to be out in the cold to sell cookies? They couldn’t wait for a nicer day?
On a side note I travel a lot for business. Getting a lot of people approaching me hitting me up for money. The other night at the burger place older white guy in ball cap and neck tattoo begged me since he was needing $16 more dollars or motel would not take him and family. Mentioned he was a veteran. Sucker chump me I gave him some $.
Quite frankly though Im so sick of deadbeat beggars. Its time I think to channel my inner Ebeneezer Scrooge and ignore them.
Man then heads over to Weight Watchers and sells them for 20 bucks a box.
Who the hell puts their little girls out in the cold to sell cookies. How stupid are the adults? It’s not like it can’t be put off for a couple days.
I even went up to a table....and said....when you stop supporting baby killing, I will again buy your cookies.

Or the nearest pot shop....
Have you seen their commercial? Total social justice warrior crap. At around 50 seconds in a “Don’t ask don’t tell” poster. What does that have to do with the girl scouts? Most of the role models are entertainers, not business people or scientists.
