So many have reached this point before me and so many will reach it after me. Have been to this site almost daily for 20 years. Except a few Lents when I gave it up. This is the 62nd thread I have started (not very many in 20 years) and I just made a donation first.

Thanks to all I may have missed. It’s been a good day. Ran some errands while our dog got a badly needed haircut and celebrated at a really good Chinese buffet. The tides are turning in our country - finally. What a time to be living in and it is much richer because of Free Republic and all of you.

Scratched my head for a bit as I had never heard that song. 1999! Funny I lurked for the same year before signing up. And in 1999 what a lot of prepping talk on FR! I think Y2K turned out to be the first "nothingburger" before anyone even thought of that word. Thanks for posting.
