Left of left of left.
A hateful leftist.
But a good actor.
He was hysterical in Caddyshack.
“Varment Kong”
Lol
LOL, I remember when Bill Murray did the Oscar Picks on SNL, he would basically take all the names off the board for the Best Supporting Actor/Actress and say, “Nobody really cares about these.”
I used to agree with you but Murray changed my mind with his role in St. Vincent. Great movie and Murray is outstanding.
Hitchcock wasn't really appreciated until his declining years, and no one was going to give him an Oscar for Torn Curtain or Family Plot.
Val Kilmer as Batman. Just kidding. Doc Holliday in Tombstone of course.
Ed Harris should have won for “Polick”
The 5 times that Hitchcock was nominated, the winners were no slouches: John Ford, Leo McCarey, Billy Wilder (twice), and Elia Kazan.
RE: Doc Holliday in Tombstone of course.
Now, THAT performance was a tour de force. “I’m Your Huckleberry...”
WGAF?
Brannagh belongs on the list. His Shakespeare movies are great, especially Henry V. He is faithful to Shakespeare’s text, but his delivery makes it very accessible.
I’ll miss Albert Finney.
He was a great actor. And he portrayed Churchill better than anyone.
Truth.
Viggo is a great guy, and a wonderful actor. I don’t pay much attention to his politics, mostly because I don’t like to get upset with people I respect and have enjoyed working with.
It is amazing that Hitchcock did not win best director for Vertigo, North by Northwest, Rebecca or Psycho. These are literally some of the best movies ever made or directed. They are by far some of the most memorable.
It is understandable when two or three incredibly great movies come out in one year and you lose to The Godfather or The Deer Hunter. Some years there just are not many good movies. Other years movies like Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan and you just know that the fix was in.
“Under the Volcano” was another good one.
I think his best role was “Eastern Promises”. The knife fight scene in the steam room was incredible.
I may be really old fashioned but the only movies I have seen and would nominate are those where I walked out of the theater with a smile on my face. I dont consider Hollywood to be the Entertainment Capital of the World because I am seldom, if ever, entertained.
Wouldnt having them put together a list of the best actors and actresses to never win a Lewinsky be more appropriate?
