Suddenly I couldn't comment after my favorite video channels on YouTube:
Are any other freepers encountering this..?

Starting yesterday I suddenly could not post comments at YouTube:
There used to be a little window after vids where you could write stuff.
People could thumbs-up comments they liked or thought especially relevant.
Do you guys still have that ability?
For me it has disappeared.
It happened to me once before and came back, but now it’s happening even to Joseph Paul Watson.
There a few kooks but it's no big deal.
Big cities have dirty people shouting to themselves on street corners, there's no dire emergency.
Page owners on youtube determine if they want comments
Youtube text comments are toxic. They should be banned.
Maybe leave video commenting for verified people, not bots/throw-away accounts.
Thing is:
EVERY YouTube channel I now visit features no comments.
Is that the case now for you, too..?
I mean if you have a registered YouTube account, etc.

I can comment on anything on Youtube.
I just went there to Paul Joseph Watson’s - “Jussie Smollett is a Complete Idiot” and was able to comment (not that there was anything for me to add to what Watson had said). But the option was available.
They don’t want to hear from common Americans. They have no need or desire for a “town hall” comments section. Can’t have Americans talking among themselves! That may cause issues.
YouTube and Disqus eliminated the ability to see down arrows on peoples comments. They implemented this years ago, because the liberal comments were always destroyed by down arrows.
It's simple, if ya don't want to read comments, don't read the comments.
You’re lucky to find a youtube that hasn’t been pulled. Most everything I’ve tried to look at for the past 4 years or so has been yanked down.
Kinda like when as kids the parents would say “I don’t want to hear any of your back talk”.
Could be your ad blocker, if you use one. Alternately, it could be browser type.
I’m looking at Youtube right now and their comments sections are very much open and available. Also, users can disable comments on videos; this has been the case for many years.
I’d guess it’s only a matter of time until a viable competitor like a WeTube or MeTube or the equivalent comes out.
Agreed. Saying that those comments should be banned reminds me of the type of person that says there ought to be a law...

The only thing I can think of that would have gotten me in trouble with YouTube:
A Scientologist guy from Hollywood who’s now doing movie work for Chinese studios over in China. He was denouncing people who are at all critical of China. He had this whole, nasty polemic going.
It was almost like the PRC gummint was paying him.
I told him off (no swear words), saying he was a lickspittle for the PRC, that he should wait a few more years in China and maybe his views would be different. I said that, but gave quite a bit more detail and a more developed rationale.
That’s the only YouTube comment I can think of that would have really, really pissed someone off.

I don’t know about YouTube, but I have noticed an inverse correlation between the how far left a news website is and the ability for people to add comments to an article.
I have noticed that websites that lean left do not have comments more and more. I find the comments to either be more entertaining than the article or in rare cases of a thought provoking article to add further insight, which of course is why comments are banned as they might cause somebody to question a narrative. The disconnect I see is on many topics, when the powers that be forget to disable the comments, most times the overwhelming majority seems to disagree with the authors absurd propaganda premise and not with the over the top absurd vitriol and adhominims that are the centerpiece of leftist debate tactics, but with rational debate and humor, that is until the website sees the error of allowing comments and memory holes them. The overwhelming numbers I frequently see for things like this points out a blatant disconnect. It makes it appear that most of the country is on the more libertarian or conservative philosophy by very large numbers, yet 50% + a few votes seem to install liberals. So either a disproportional amount of conservatives read and try to stay informed on topics (very plausable, by watching man on the street interviews alone), or there be fraud in them thar hills (extremely likely)
I expect "the Ministry of Truth" will have to put a stop to people being able to protect themselves from the dominant consumer giants
