I have never forgotten that movie. I saw it on TV about 1966.
Alfred knew a lot about fears, worries and personality flaws.

That movie scared the crap out of me as a kid.

Did Hitchcock after talk about what the message behind that film was, if any?
To: NH Red
Right up there with the flying monkeys in Wizard of Oz.

Conservatives should take note.

He did mention it was about how fragile civilization is when nature intervenes.

Hitch also had a fear of birds.

Must have been filming a western on the set next door... Hitchcock just previously had lunch with Mel Brooks.

I’m currently reading Tippi Hendren’s memoir. She writes about what a toll that movie took on her. Apparently Hitch was very difficult to work for.
To: miss marmelstein
That makes sense.
Thanks!
To: simpson96
One of my favorite movies.

There are no telephone booths around anymore to protect... A frightening thought.

Hitch stalked her, sexually harassed her & then had her career ruined in Hollywood.

Indeed.
Nowadays, you can’t even have a Birthday Party w/o wondering if someone is “going to be offended” by something meant to be fun.

Kim Novak, same story.
She was repulsed, and didn’t hide it.
