Movies with gay people used to be edgy. It was illegal in many places and was universally considered to be immoral. So yeah, he looked down on films that glorified it with disdain.

Today it's not edgy, it's boring. All agenda driven stuff is boring. If your point is to celebrate or elevate some grievance group you can't allow them to have flaws, weaknesses, anything resembling actual character. They are always all just perfect and wonderful, funny, smart, good looking, well adjusted, caring and universally loved. If they get angry at all, it's because some two dimensional cartoon villain said something terrible and of course they are right to put him in his place. You go girl ... er ... I mean empowered gender fluid individual!

This is how all gays are shown in all media now. It's just boring.

I was surprised to see part of 1939 The Three Musketeers with (the flouncing?) Ritz Brothers on TV when flipping channels the other day. I was thinking "What? 1939? I can't believe this!"
