John Wayne was trending this morning, and it’s not his birthday. What gives?
Apparently, some SJW dug up an old John Wayne Playboy interview from 1971, and this SJW was SHOCKED to find that the world has changed in terms of how people talk about race and sexuality.

You could go back an unearth any number of interviews done with celebrities, politicians, etc. and find all manner of things that would upset SJW of today.
The thing they never want to comprehend is that people are a product of their times, that was the prevailing thoughts at the time. Everything has to be looked at in revisionist thinking today and that is just not logical.

I remember the interview well. He talks very candidly about the Indians, getting Montezuma’s Revenge on a photo shoot in Mexico, saying that Nixon should have burned those tapes... etc.
We’re Americans. And the people who come here and thrive become the same way.

The wife and I watch a lot of TCM. We often comment that this or that particular script could not be produced today. Somehow TCM has stayed below the SJW radar, but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the channel’s new owner, AT&T, pulled the plug on it one day.....
Oh, and let’s not leave out David Bowie’s 1980 album, “Scary Monsters.” the track “Scream Like a Baby” also uses that term. Why he’s no more enlightened than John Wayne!
So without having to wade through all the Twitter garbage - what did he say exactly?
People today suffer from Recency illusion much more than they used to.

TCM is one of the few channels I like.
