Blu Ray is certainly not going away immediately. Sony, LG & other manufacturers are still making the players, and the movie studios will keep churning out the discs as long as people buy 'em. As Obama might say, if you like your Blu Ray, you can keep your Blu Ray.
There is definitely a trend toward streaming, though. I was never much of a buyer of DVDs or Blu Rays, so I don't personally care. On the other hand, I do understand why some would prefer a physical disc to a download. For one thing, discs typically have bonus content, featurettes, deleted scenes, commentary, etc., that you almost never get with a download. Also, at this point, audio video/quality may still be better with a physical disc compared to some streaming material.

Good points. With a hard-copy DVD, you get extra features and are protected in case the show or movie is not offered as a download or goes out of print.
People who like niche items are also in danger of being pushed out of the market; for example, many ministries create DVD's as educational and fund-raising items, and many documentaries might fall between the cracks.
All that will be available will be mainstream, mass-market stuff. Reliance on downloading threatens niche markets and makes people vulnerable to corporate censorship.

My wife watches streaming and it constantly pisses her off with stalls, stutters, etc.
May be our internet connection, but I do not watch as much TV as she does so I do not want a higher prices connection for movies.
