Who says I can't
How could someone born without arms or legs, who's never held a football, teach high school players how to throw, tackle or block? Rob Mendez is doing it as head coach of a California JV team.

IT'S THE BIGGEST weekend of the year in Gilroy, California, with more than 100,000 people visiting for the annual garlic festival. But on this late July night, 30-year-old high school football coach Rob Mendez has a taste for sushi. A young boy holds open the door as Mendez approaches his favorite spot. The coach nods and says "thank you."
But you ought to very much read this.....
100,000 people show up for a garlic festival?
Oh....you should find the short maybe 15 min film also.
Read the article.
I was better for it........
So you won’t even read something that is good....and might help your soul?
And I think...everyone would be better to read it..and watch it if you can.

I think you will like....might even know the story.
It's inspiring...for dang sure.
That’s a really long article but well worth the time. That young coach is certainly an inspiration to me and should be for anyone who reads the article
Gilroy claims to be the "Garlic Capital of the World."
Regards,
I read much of it, good for him to rise above what most of us can never imagine, but he seems to have a bit of harsh edge to him like some part of him not peaceful.
I also wonder if he gets help from his daily assistant or others for the pain it mentions he has. I understand he has to sit or lay all the time and it can easily cause fatigue and pain as well as him having to manuever in repetitive ways to do things, but there’s plenty of options to deal with his discomforts similar to how sports players do which i imagine he is well aware of since he has been in the coaching field so long:: massage, cold therapies, assisted stretch, icewave or similar patches, or possibly try invasives like herbal/natural topical or supplements or if need be OTC medicated pills, creams or patches or stronger Rx drug etc, but no reason he should chronically suffer pain when lots of non invasive health giving options or medicinal ones.
And you didn't read it all or watch the video.
Seems to me...you've got some issues...
But I think the man is unbelievable....and a way better person than you.

Excellent story!
What an inspirational young man. ON a daily basis he faces more challenges than most of us do in a month. Yet he is positive and gives to others.
Gives me hope going forward that there are still hard working good people.
Recommend as a must read!
Thank for posting :)
You are welcome....
Glad you liked it....I loved it also.
I'm somewhat surprised....only a faction of FReepers have looked at this post.
Although...I know even on FR...blood, gut's and scandal rules...
Not any different than MSM watcher's.
This man is a positive role model and able to bring young people together to work towards a goal, a purpose. In these divisive times, it is so heartwarming/encouraging to see.
BUMP!
I have arms and legs....and I'm not always "peaceful"
Wow.....
