The Houston officer who led a deadly raid in which a couple were killed and five cops were injured lied to get a search warrant, according to the city's police chief.
Lead investigator Gerald Goines alleged an informant bought heroin at the house of Dennis Tuttle, 59, and Rhogena Nicholas, 58, the day before the January 28 raid. The informant had also allegedly seen a handgun in the home.
But according to an affidavit filed as part of the ongoing investigation into the raid and made public Friday, the informant told investigators he or she had not bought any drugs at the home and had not been involved in any work leading up to the raid.

Not quite.
A. "Good" cops actively lie, conceal or 'lose' damning evidence, trump up or fabricate exculpatory evidence, intimidate witnesses, suborn juries, arrest and charge and/or deport or have extradited bystanders, as needed to shield fellow badges...
KNOCK IT OFF GUYS!!!
Really. KNOCK IT OFF!
That said, cops like the ones in this scenario shake the publix faith. Raiding the wrong home, shooting family pets, killing innocent people based off of lies or failed info, no knock warrants, swatting, overzealous/beyond force necessary arrests...This is just not supposed to happen.
That's what would happen to the get away driver who didn't haver a gun, and never left the car while his cohort shot the 7-11 clerk.
Of course the same rules apply in a case of home invasion and murder under color of authority.
Just damn.
“’We have 5,200 officers and I would ask that nobody paint our department with a broad brush.”
The others give the 200 a bad name.
As you say.
Life in prison as a cop would be worse.
Done. Welcome aboard.
Authorities still believe Tuttle and Nicholas were involved in criminal activity
With all of the local, state, and federal laws that statement would cover most of the people in the U.S.
So, when do the victims surviving family members get to use this jerk and his cohorts for target practice?
My 40+ year of experience dealing with police departments from forces of three to thousands has taught me that 85-90% of police officers are honest, conscientious, brave men and women that do their level best to protect their citizens from the scum that surround them.
For the most part their personal well being is low on the list of priorities and although tend to give the benefit of the doubt to their fellow officers but WOULD NOT cover for them if they reasonably suspected malfeasance.
I find it infuriating that vacuous, uninformed, mindless loud mouths would state or imply the opposite as if it were fact.
I was just thinking of the cost of keeping him alive.
Actually it's what DOES happen. By this I mean the active and deliberate criminal actions that are used to excuse and enable a culture of out of control cops.
Does Internal Affairs find wrong doing in even so much as 0.1% of the cases? Does anyone know the actual statistic?
Done. Welcome aboard.
Right out of the Robert Mueller play book
Sounds like two counts of felony murder to me.
Yep!
When I was attacked by a drunk ex police officer back in ‘97 near Napa, the table filled with other police officers cheered him on.
It wasn’t until later that they realized I could have charged him and one other with assault and battery and easily won.
There were 50 witnesses.
> Overwhelming majority of cops are good decent folks just like the rest of us. <
Twenty years ago, I would have agreed with that 100%. But now, no. Cops used to see themselves as peace officers. Now they’re law enforcement officers.
Police work is more challenging and dangerous these days. For sure. But too many cops use that as a reason - consciously or subconsciously - to routinely step over the line.
So how many cops are “good decent folks” these days? Based on my personal observations, I’d say maybe 1 out of 3. And I take no pleasure in saying that.
And not a single foto of Ofc. Goines anywhere. Hmmm. He has a long history of complaints, and these aren’t his first killings. There was a road rage incident some years ago in which the other driver was shot dead. You can be sure many of his fellow officers were aware of all this.
