The Houston officer who led a deadly raid in which a couple were killed and five cops were injured lied to get a search warrant, according to the city's police chief.
Lead investigator Gerald Goines alleged an informant bought heroin at the house of Dennis Tuttle, 59, and Rhogena Nicholas, 58, the day before the January 28 raid. The informant had also allegedly seen a handgun in the home.
But according to an affidavit filed as part of the ongoing investigation into the raid and made public Friday, the informant told investigators he or she had not bought any drugs at the home and had not been involved in any work leading up to the raid.

Yeah, Acevedo seemed to always show up at events in Austin to get his picture taken.
Done. Welcome aboard!
[’We have 5,200 officers and I would ask that nobody paint our department with a broad brush. This is not indicative of the greater work that goes on here,’ Acevedo said.]
Ah, so killing two people in their home because of a liar is “the greater work”.
I have GOT to brush up on Newspeak.
If it were Us vs Crime, there wouldn't be a code of silence.
This is why I don't "support law enforcement". I support the rule of law. They aren't the same.
Remember, the Houston police were about to make Churches give copies of their sermons to be approved or not prior to their meetings on Sundays as per their mayor a flaming man hating les bean.
Many of us had it pegged from day one. At the very least, it was a no knock. Maybe the wrong address. Whatever, something stank.
Likely all the cops, but one, were just following orders and doing their job never thinking this was a total set up.
Two counts of first degree murxer, five counts of agvravated assault, breaking and entering, conspiracy, deprivation of civil rights, falsifying official documents ...
I immediately thought personal issue.
What did these folks have on this cop or why did this cop want them harm??
Something smells like hillary’s britches here.
[Dont be so hasty. Has anyone checked to see if their mattress tags are still in place?]
There are no tags on these mattresses. I’m gonna have to report you to the mattress police.
Getty image, try again.
I find it infuriating that vacuous, uninformed, mindless loud mouths would state or imply the opposite as if it were fact.

By your very mouth you state that 10-15% are untrustworthy... In my town 15 years ago there was an investigation and purge , over half were terminated and were guilty of crimes that if it were you or me would have them in prison for decades... I have relatives who I know are dirty beyond a shadow of a doubt... and his entire crew is dirty also .. The average person has only NEGATIVE interactions with police ... they come to take a report after your house is broken into with you knowing full well they shield the thieves and shake them down for a cut... They write you tickets for traffic infractions when they break the same laws by a much larger degree every minute they’re on the road... They steal from all of us by manipulating their schedules to get overtime pay and demanding new squad cars every few years while we are driving 15 year old Toyotas and by creating unnecessary SWAT teams that only serve to create more overtime pay and playtime at the range.
Murdered.
Please.
Of what crime were the couple convicted? NONE!
What court sentenced them to death? NONE!
They were murdered.
The Houston "Police" Department consists of murderes and conspirators to commit murder.
Don't like the truth? Prove me wrong! Arrest the "officers" involved, charge them with murder, aggravated assault, breaking and entering, deprivation of civil rights, conspiracy, perjury etc.
Until then, EVERY HPD "officer" is a suspect.
If your neighbor asks you for a ride to the bank, and you drive him there, thinking it’s a normal request from a guy who’s car is broken, and he robs the bank and shoots someone, YOU will be charged with murder.
Shouldn’t our betters be held to the same standard, or conversely shouldn’t WE be held to no higher standard than THEY are?
Zat so?
Nuremburg.
Do you use blanket terms to describe any group you dislike or just the cops?
Yeah, that would work if the couple were serious dealers . But, so far I haven’t read anything that supports that.
In a major city.
Hard to believe he didn't cut lots of corners.
Hard to believe he didn't abuse his power numerous times.
When this started, his name was withheld because he was an "undercover officer".
Think of that times 30 years.
