HOUSTON - The story from Houston Police Department narcotics officers surrounding a drug raid-turned-shootout that left five officers injured and two people dead doesnt add up, according to a warrant reviewed by Channel 2 Investigates on Friday.
The warrant was requested by an HPD sergeant with the Special Investigations Unit, regarding the controversial raid at 7815 Harding St. on Jan. 28.
In the legal documents obtained by Channel 2 Investigates, a sergeant stated that he along with his partner were unable to track down any confidential informants involved in a drug buy at the home of 58-year-old Rhogena Nicholas and 59-year-old Dennis Tuttle. Both were killed in the shooting that also resulted in the shooting of four HPD officers.
In the warrant, the sergeant went on to say Officer Gerald Goines of HPDs Narcotics Division provided officers, including Lt. Marsha Todd a high-ranking narcotics division supervisor, two different names of confidential informants. The warrant stated the two officers, interviewed all of the confidential informants and all denied making a buy for Goines from the Harding Street residence, and ever purchasing narcotics from Nicholas or Tuttle.
Channel 2 Investigates is still digging through the new records and will continue to update this breaking story throughout the day.
Good lord
No CI now......what the hell did they raid the house for.
Right after the killing the cops touted they found guns and pot and less than a gram of snorting cocaine
And that their snitch had bought heroin there.....didnt say how much
They claimed it was a major heroin home and the dealer was well heeled with serious weapon at hand
His guns proved to be I think a 9mm and a shotgun and a 7mm mag bolt and a .22 single shot rifle
I think he used the shotgun to wound the home invaders
They deserved to be gunned down in their homes....and the dog too
They were white.....and the dog as well
And worse they had a little pot and toot
Good riddance.....these cops are heroes no question
Kill all drug users and pitbulls
I just covered two major forum hate targets.....deft
If we round up and kill all folks whove used drugs and all the pit bulls and put them in camps for extermination
Itll be the 1950s again population wise and median age will be around 7
You are correct
My one and only experience in this arena....federal op
The buys were made filmed and recorded
The arrests were made with the usual blue jacket DEA Guys with locals and marine patrol as outer perimeter sentries
And they grabbed them early morning when the main guy went out to get his paper at 6am
Posh tropical neighborhood and theyd been set up for hours including occupying the mansion across the street for days to record and observe
You coulda told them there was 10 tons of cocaine in the home and they would not have raided it baring some confirmation via phone taps or traffic or dogs or surveillance cams
These guys raided this home either by mistake or simply on the word of a neighbor or some tip maybe
Obviously incorrect
This was an old vet and his wife of many years who neither had criminal past...
Why dont they run them.....they woulda known that
I know this sounds bigoted and I am from Mississippi but this is Houston
Id like to see the team......
No handguns on the inventory list, not even the alleged .357 that they claim the first cop was shot with.

Starting to sound like, maybe, someone in the cop chain of command wanted some undercover cops put under the dirt.
Someone see something they weren’t supposed to? Or someone getting a case of the integrity botherings starting up?
I read quite a bit of that thread and it does not bear out your accusations towards people who post on Free Republic.
I’m afraid this sort of charlie foxtrot will only get worse when they start doing more “red flag” raids.
New stuff
Affidavit: Police can’t find informant used to justify deadly Pecan Park drug raid
By Keri Blakinger, James Pinkerton, and St. John Barned-Smith Updated 2:21 pm CST, Friday, February 15, 2019
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said an undercover narcotics officer involved in a deadly botched drug raid will likely face criminal charges as questions continue to be raised about the case.
“There’s a high probability there will be a criminal charge,” Acevedo said Friday after a police affidavit went public raising questions about the integrity of the Jan. 28 drug bust.
He said prior cases handled by Officer Gerald Goines will be reviewed, and the entire narcotics unit will face an “extensive audit” of their practices.
Houston police have been unable to find the confidential informant behind the drug buy that set off a deadly narcotics raid last month, according to the warrant affidavit signed last week.
Surrender the officers’ pensions.
Next up, all officers shot during raid were hit by friendly fire and the residents never fought back.

That would not surprise me at this point.
Like I said before, this was a Home Invasion Robbery conducted by the Police Officers in question. They belong on DEATH ROW Awaiting EXECUTION
Here’s an update:
Brother Art calls it material untruths or lies.
Wonder if Goines will be the one criminally charged since his is the only name out there. He apparently is still in the hospital.
by TexasGator: Amazing how you always come out supporting criminals!
by Kazan: Regular, paranoid that were hardcore users at best that unleashed a pit bull and started shooting at police as soon as they entered the residence. If this account is accurate, the two druggie losers were shot and killed in self-defense:
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/29/us/houston-shooting.html
by Kazan: The police entered lawfully. If you try to ambush them, as this couple did, you deserve to die.
by Kazan: I guarantee Blacks Lives Matter and Antifa would be making the same point if the two that were killed were black. Only anti-cop, pro-drug paranoids or leftist activist assume the police are lying without proof.
by Kazan: Never mind the guy's sister apologized to the police. She knew what kind of scumbag her brother is.
by Kazan: Which means you should believe the police account of what happened and that they shot in self-defense unless there is proof they aren't telling the truth.
by Kazan: If they were supposed to wear body cams and didn't, then they should be reprimanded. But, it absolutely not fair to assume the officers are lying without proof.
by TexasGatorYou: would have to presume the cops were GUILTY of lying in order to believe these people were not drug dealers. Where is your presumption of innocence for the cops?
by Kazan: My only problem is with those that have assumed they lied. Police should be given the benefit of the doubt unless there is proof of corruption or wrongdoing.
by Kazan: They wouldn't have fired at all if a pit bull hadn't attacked one of them. These two are no different than blacks that have been killed that didn't follow lawful police commands.
by Kazan: What a load of crap. They didn't have chance to. An officer was immediately attacked by a pit bull and Tuttle began shooting at them at the same time the pit bull was shot. Here's a bit advice for all of any race: Don't arm yourself and start shooting at police officers as soon as you see them and obey the lawful commands they give you and there is very little chance you will be killed by a police officer.
by Kazan: BS. You're the one acting a liberal Black Lives Matter/Antifa freak. Conservatives ARE pro law-and-order and law enforcement.
You're pro-drug, anti-police and either a liberaltarian or an Infowars/Alex Jones paranoid freak.
The two druggies in question ambushed police. They useless dirt bags. That is why Tuttle’s sister apologized to the police. She knew who her brother was.
The FACTS are the police had the legal right to be there and were attacked by a pit bull and shot at as soon as they entered. There isn't a DA that would prosecute or jury in the world that would convict unless it is proven the police are lying.
by Kazan: I certainly want an America where law enforcement can blow the doors off drug traffickers and arrest them.
The didn't just starting shooting. YOU LYING because you're anti-police. And, that isn't acceptable. I'll be damned if the whole nation ends up like Baltimore and Ferguson because people like you are pro-drug and anti-cop.
by Kazan: That two people in Houston were killed WAS THEIR FAULT. They were either really heroin dealers or they paranoid after years due years of pot smoking. Either way, they would alive if their pit bull hadn't attacked a police officer and if Tuttle hadn't started shooting at police officer.
It's not rocket science — obey lawful police commands and you won't be harmed.
by Kazan: It was the couples fault. If they had restrained their dog, not tried to disarm a police officer and hadnt shot at the police officers, theyd still be alive.
Yea, this whole thing is quite the cluster F.
Well done
Its not that people automatically assumed the police were lying. Just watching it live something seemed off. My spidey sense tingled bigly.
And now between Art Acevedos admissions and Garamalds screeching, they are giving a lot of good men and women a bad name when their job is hard enough without this.
Art Acevedo us the Houston version of Robert Israel.
